Welcome to our first edition of “Around Allandale”, the blog keeping you informed about events happening in and around the Mansion!
Our fourth August concert series was a resounding success with large crowds, lots of families, and some delicious food trucks coming out to share a good time. We were happy to welcome PEAK (Kingsport’s Young Professional Organization) to partner with Friends of Allandale to make this event truly shine. Thank you to our performers: Vic Henley, Folk Soul Revival, Kyle Cook, and Beth Snapp. Another thank you goes out to Foodie Fiction, Backdraft BBQ, Sam’s Snoball Paradise, and Auntie Ruth’s Doughnuts for attending our event with your delicious food. A final thank you to Friends of Allandale, PEAK Kingsport, the Eastman Foundation, Eastman Credit Union, Visit Kingsport, and City of Kingsport staff for all your help in making this event a success. We look forward to next year’s concert series!
Next time you’re in the Mansion, take a look at our gorgeous William Barnish clock! “Clocking” in at over 200 years old, we recently made some small cosmetic repairs to this beauty so that it can be enjoyed for many years to come!
Our next community event will be our annual holiday tours. A Kingsport tradition, our holiday tours are a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Join us for a self-guided tour with cookies and wassail on the following dates:
Saturday, December 1: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Sunday, December 2: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
We will post additional details as we get closer to the event, so be sure to check back either here on the website or on our Facebook page.
Due to anticipated heavy rains, the 40th Annual Allandale Car Show has been canceled.
The event has been RESCHEDULED for Sunday, September 23 at the ***ETSU ALLANDALE CAMPUS*** right down the road and will not be held at the actual Allandale Mansion grounds.
Join us for this year’s August Under the Stars at Allandale! See the video for additional information:
ATTENTION: There was a misprint in the Johnson City Press and the Kingsport Times-News regarding the Symphony of the Mountains (Official)event we are hosting! The paper lists the concert as today, 6/29/18. However, the concert is not until *****JULY 29****.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and we hope to see you out here on JULY 29!
Internationally bestselling author and Kingsport native Kimberly Belle will be kicking off her book tour for Three Days Missing on June 26 at the Allandale Pavilion. This exciting fundraising event, co-hosted by Friends of Allandale and the Kingsport Literacy Council, will benefit the Literacy Council’s wonderful operations and help install new stage lighting at the Allandale Amphitheater. Lunch will be served, and Kimberly will be discussing her new book and signing books.
Tickets and reservations can be made through the Literacy Council office at 423-392-4643. Seating will be limited. Tickets are $40.00 for lunch and a book, or $30.00 for just lunch.
We look forward to you joining us for this installment of our “Authors at Allandale” series!
We are proud to host the Dobyns-Bennett BUDS Prom each year! It’s a wonderful event for a wonderful group of kids. Check out this video coverage on WJHL of this year’s event at our Pavilion.
Friends: It’s prom season!
Please be aware that Allandale Mansion and Allandale Vintage Barns are the spot for many weddings and other events and we cannot generally accommodate day-of prom photos (or other types of drop-in photo sessions). We ask that you please respect our renters and check our event schedule before planning a visit.
Photo sessions are $50/hour for the grounds and $75/hour for inside the Mansion, two hour minimum. You may book photo sessions in advance by calling 423-229-9422.
Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!
